MASTER partners are involved in the organisation of the 4th International Workshop on Big Mobility Data Analytics (BMDA) co-located with EDBT/ICDT Conference, March 23 – 26, 2021 Nicosia, Cyprus http://www.datastories.org/bmda21/ https://edbticdt2021.cs.ucy.ac.cy/workshops/ In its 4th edition, the BMDA workshop will foster the exchange of new ideas on multidisciplinary real-world problems, discuss proposals about innovative solutions, and identify emerging opportunities for further research in the area of big mobility data analytics, such as deep learning on mobility data, edge computing, visual analytics, etc. Submission deadline: December 14th 2020

The fifth issue of the MASTER newsletter is ready! It is undoubted that the COVID-19 pandemic affected the lives of all of us and the MASTER activities in particular. Nevertheless, the research and dissemination activities related to the project are continuing as much as possible in remote mode. This issue of the newsletter does not report any secondment but we focus on the projects we are hosting - this month EV-CHIP - and published MASTER papers, as well as events where we have been involved.  The MASTER project will participate in the Euro Science Open Forum event, from 2 to 6 September 2020. The EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) is a biennial, pan-European, general science conference dedicated to scientific research and innovation. Each conference aims to deliver stimulating content and lively debate around the latest advancements and discoveries in the sciences, humanities and social sciences.ESOF brings together over 4,500 leading thinkers, innovators, policy makers, journalists and educators from more than 90 countries, to discuss current and future breakthroughs in contemporary science.The event will be held partially in person and partially remotely.MASTER is part of the 22 MSCA projects  who takes part of the ESOF. MASTER will contribute to the panel "Network user security and privacy solutions in the era of artificial intelligence and GDPR" in the science program…

The 21st IEEE International Conference on Mobile Data Management will be held from June 30 - July 3, 2020  organized by our partner Prof. Karine Zeitouni from UVSQ .Due to the COVID outbreak the conference will be ONLINE only.MDM program offers three workshops, one PhD seminar, two keynotes, a panel and a rich scientific program with research, demo and industrial tracks.   Attendance is free of charge!Registration deadline June 22nd, 2020.All infos at the MDM web site

MASTER partners, as an activity not directly related to the project but interesting to mention due to the links with the project topics,  are actively participating and giving contributions to the COVID19 pandemic that is affecting the whole globe.Prof. Vania Bogorny and Luis Otavio Alvares from Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) are collaborating with an Italian company in developing a tracing app for the COVID. The app is called "Covid Community Alert", a worldwide open-source standard proposed by a global community to provide a service that allows the monitoring of interactions among devices in a totally anonymous way.
