MASTER participated into the ESOF Euro Forum, in the panel "Network user security and privacy solutions in the era of artificial intelligence and GDPR" jojnt with other RISE projects: SECONDO, INCOGNITO, BeHAPI. The panel was held as a virtual room on Thursday September 3rd at 18. With other panelists we discussed the issues on the security and privacy of citizens and how the technology developed by these projects can have an impact in the society. Have a look at the slides!
The MASTER consortium - supported by the precious contribution of Beatrice Rapisarda (CNR) - won the support for the results dissemination from the Horizon Results Booster of the European Commission! The Booster will help the Consortium in creating a portfolio of project results to disseminate. The MASTER project will participate in the Euro Science Open Forum event, from 2 to 6 September 2020. The EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) is a biennial, pan-European, general science conference dedicated to scientific research and innovation. Each conference aims to deliver stimulating content and lively debate around the latest advancements and discoveries in the sciences, humanities and social sciences.ESOF brings together over 4,500 leading thinkers, innovators, policy makers, journalists and educators from more than 90 countries, to discuss current and future breakthroughs in contemporary science.The event will be held partially in person and partially remotely.MASTER is part of the 22 MSCA projects who takes part of the ESOF. The MASTER conceptual model developed by UFSC and CNR has been presented at the Italian Database conference, SEBD2020, which has been held virtually from June 21 to June 24, 2020. Chiara Renso (CNR) presented the paper to an audience of about 35 attendees. MASTER partners, as an activity not directly related to the project but interesting to mention due to the links with the project topics, are actively participating and giving contributions to the COVID19 pandemic that is affecting the whole globe.Prof. Vania Bogorny and Luis Otavio Alvares from Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) are collaborating with an Italian company in developing a tracing app for the COVID. The app is called "Covid Community Alert", a worldwide open-source standard proposed by a global community to provide a service that allows the monitoring of interactions among devices in a totally anonymous way. The Big Mobility Data Analysis workshop planned to be in Copenhagen - joint with the EDBT conference - on March 30 has been held remotely, due to the coronavirus restrictions.Chiara Renso (CNR) and Karine Zeitouni (UVSQ) has chaired the workshop by Zoom, hosted by the EDBT conference system.Prof. Zymanyi from Free University of Brussels held a keynote speech entitled "MobilityDB: Managing Mobility Data in PostgreSQL". Nine papers has been selected by the Program Committee and has been presented using uploaded videos and live Q&A. An average number of 37 users attended the workshop.
