Best Demo Runner up for Tarlis Portela!

News
Congratulations to our secondee Tarlis Tortelli Portela from UFSC and PhD student at UFSC and University of Pisa for winning the best demo runner up at the International Conference on Mobile Data Management 2022!!  The tool presented is a library to support the data mining of multiple aspects trajectories and specifically the movelets. This work has been a joint collaboration between UFSC, CNR and University of Pisa. Paper is avaiable at https://zenodo.org/record/7310526#.Y2zp--zMIkg

Secondment of CNR to UFC

Secondment of CNR to UFC

News, Secondments
During the month of April the CNR secondee Francesco Lettich visited our partner Jose de Macedo at the Federal University of Ceará in Brazil for executing a one month secondment. The research work of Francesco focussed on WP4 and specifically on external sensor trajectories (ESTs), i.e. sparse trajectories collected through the observations of a sensor network deployed within some urban area. One particular issue is the need to enrich ESTs with further features, as this has the potential to substantially improve the accuracy of predictive techniques. In this context the CNR staff can offer its expertise in the semantic enrichment domain, with the integration of existing techniques or the introduction of novel ones.

Second MASTER workshop in Venice

Second MASTER workshop in Venice

Meetings, News
On May 13th 2022 we held the Second MASTER workshop. The event has been organised by our partner Ca' Foscari University of Venice by Alessandra Raffaetà in the room Aula Magna Silvio Trentin at Ca’ Dolfin, in the historical centre of Venice. The workshop program  is available at Second MASTER Workshop.   The title of the workshop was “MASTER meets Mobility Industries” where the objective was to find links with the industrial world of mobility.   Companies ACTV Venice, BusForFun and Mindicity kindly accepted to give a presentation, introduce their companies, the data they manage, and the analysis problems they are facing.   In addition, we invited two European projects related to mobility data, MOBIDATALAB (Thierry Chevalier from AKKA, France) and VesselAI (Spiros Mouzakitis from NTUA, Greece).  MASTER Partners – Chiara Renso from CNR, Alessandra Raffaetà and Giulia  Rovinelli from…

News
Joint work from University of Venice Ca' Foscari in Venice and Dalhousie University in Halifax  has just been published by Geoinformtica Journal. The paper has title "From multiple aspect trajectories to predictive analysis: a case study on fishing vessels in the Northern Adriatic sea" and presents an approach to modelling, storage and analysis of multiple aspects trajectories in the maritime domain.  Specifically the work focuses on the prediction of Catch per Unit Effort.  This works integrates fishing ships trajectories derived from AIS data, environmental data and catch data for spatio-temporal prediction of CPUE – a challenging task. Paper is publised as Open Acces and available at URL https://rdcu.be/cKfDo
