Secondments of UVSQ and CNR to UFC started
The secondments from UVSQ and CNR to UFC started! Mohammad Abboud from UVSQ, Beatrice Rapisarda and Chiara Renso from CNR arrived in Fortaleza for their secondment at Federal University of Ceará hosted by Prof. Jose Antonio de Macedo.

MAT-Builder tool presented at the Italian Database Conference SEBD 2022
MAT-builder tool, developed by CNR for enriching trajectory data with semantic aspects has been presented by PhD student from CNR and University of Pisa Chiara Pugliese at the Italian Database Conference (SEBD). Paper is available at https://ceur-ws.org/Vol-3194/paper21.pdf

MAT-Builder tool presented at MDM 2022
Chiara Pugliese from CNR presented the tool MAT-Builder at the demo session of the 23rd IEEE International Conference on Mobile Data Management, MDM 2022, Paphos, Cyprus, June 6-9, held online. The paper is avaiable at https://zenodo.org/record/7186098#.Y2zvtOzMIkgThe tool MAT-builder supports the users in constructing Multiple Aspects Trajectories starting from raw trajectory data and external data sources. The tool is available for interested researchers at the GitHub: https://github.com/chiarap2/MAT_Builder

Best Demo Runner up for Tarlis Portela!
Congratulations to our secondee Tarlis Tortelli Portela from UFSC and PhD student at UFSC and University of Pisa for winning the best demo runner up at the International Conference on Mobile Data Management 2022!! The tool presented is a library to support the data mining of multiple aspects trajectories and specifically the movelets. This work has been a joint collaboration between UFSC, CNR and University of Pisa. Paper is avaiable at https://zenodo.org/record/7310526#.Y2zp--zMIkg

Secondment of CNR to UFC
During the month of April the CNR secondee Francesco Lettich visited our partner Jose de Macedo at the Federal University of Ceará in Brazil for executing a one month secondment. The research work of Francesco focussed on WP4 and specifically on external sensor trajectories (ESTs), i.e. sparse trajectories collected through the observations of a sensor network deployed within some urban area. One particular issue is the need to enrich ESTs with further features, as this has the potential to substantially improve the accuracy of predictive techniques. In this context the CNR staff can offer its expertise in the semantic enrichment domain, with the integration of existing techniques or the introduction of novel ones.

Second MASTER workshop in Venice
On May 13th 2022 we held the Second MASTER workshop. The event has been organised by our partner Ca' Foscari University of Venice by Alessandra Raffaetà in the room Aula Magna Silvio Trentin at Ca’ Dolfin, in the historical centre of Venice. The workshop program is available at Second MASTER Workshop. The title of the workshop was “MASTER meets Mobility Industries” where the objective was to find links with the industrial world of mobility. Companies ACTV Venice, BusForFun and Mindicity kindly accepted to give a presentation, introduce their companies, the data they manage, and the analysis problems they are facing. In addition, we invited two European projects related to mobility data, MOBIDATALAB (Thierry Chevalier from AKKA, France) and VesselAI (Spiros Mouzakitis from NTUA, Greece). MASTER Partners – Chiara Renso from CNR, Alessandra Raffaetà and Giulia Rovinelli from…

New journal paper published by UNIVE and DAL
Joint work from University of Venice Ca' Foscari in Venice and Dalhousie University in Halifax has just been published by Geoinformtica Journal. The paper has title "From multiple aspect trajectories to predictive analysis: a case study on fishing vessels in the Northern Adriatic sea" and presents an approach to modelling, storage and analysis of multiple aspects trajectories in the maritime domain. Specifically the work focuses on the prediction of Catch per Unit Effort. This works integrates fishing ships trajectories derived from AIS data, environmental data and catch data for spatio-temporal prediction of CPUE – a challenging task. Paper is publised as Open Acces and available at URL https://rdcu.be/cKfDo

Newsletter Issue N. 6 published
The new issue of our newsletter has just been published! Here you can find the latest news of the project. We are hosting the project MOBIDATALAB on mobility data sharing with a contribution by te coordinator Thierry Chevallier from AKKA. We also report on the Dagstuhl seminar organised by MASTER. Furthermore, we report three recent research articles from project partners and two next events: the MASTER workshop in Venice and the Data Science for Mobility summer school. You can download the issue at http://www.master-project-h2020.eu/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/MASTER-magazine-6-March-2022.pdf
