During the month of May, CNR and UVSQ held secondments to Thira (Santorini Island, Greece). During this period the seconded researchers had the opportunity to collaborate with the Municipality of Thira. The objective was to better understand the tourism issues that the island is facing: the large flows of tourists arriving everyday tend to congest the island. Additionally, the discussions focussed on the kinds of data Thira have and which additional data they potentially collect in the future. Further work has been done in discussing some preliminary ideas of research solutions that could support a better tourism monitoring. The overlapping of secondments between CNR and UVSQ gave a further opportunity for networking.
Two coordination meetings has been held at the beginning and at the end of the secondment with UPRC Unit Manager Nikos Pelekis to better coordinate the work.
